Teaching

History at La Trobe takes pride in its commitment to teaching. Tutorials are taken by the lecturing staff as well as by tutors. Students can be sure of individual attention. Staff have email addresses and generally make themselves accessible to students, either by appointment or during specified hours at which they are available for consultation.

Our range of unit offerings is diverse, giving students considerable choice. Over 30 history units are currently offered covering the major areas of the world and key themes in human society.

Topics offered include units in global development, myths, legends and History, various aspects of European history, Australians at War, Aboriginal history, American Civil Rights Movement, America's Vietnam war, the Russian revolution and the Cold War; the history of food and food customs.
