Research interests

Romani, Romanian and Albanian history in Europe and Australia, Romani resistance to the Holocaust, post-socialist studies: joke-telling, trauma, forced labour, European social movements and discourses of human rights, feminism and sexuality in Romania and Albania.

Co-editor of a special edition of the journal Anthropology of East Europe Review “Roma and Gadgje,” with Krista Hegburg and Yasar Abu Ghosh.
