European Studies

Interested in today’s Europe?

  • open to exploring Europe across the disciplines?
  • hoping for a career with a European focus?
  • wanting to travel in an informed way?
  • looking to extend your awareness of Europe’s cultures?
  • longing to communicate in another language?

A Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary European Studies offers the chance to study in a university, now part of a European Union-funded Centre, at the forefront of studies in Australia on contemporary Europe. The degree offers a comprehensive and cohesive course of study focused on Europe today. Studies of contemporary European cultures, politics, history, trade and tourism link with the study of one or more European languages (other than English). The Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary European Studies equips students for work, travel or further study in Europe. Offering a comprehensive multi-disciplinary view of contemporary European societies and cultures, the degree prepares Australians for Europe–related business and career possibilities in Europe and in Australia.
