Australian Research Council Projects for 2008

Congratulations to the following staff who were successful with gaining ARC support for research projects within the School:

Discovery Projects

  • Dr David Frankel and Dr Jenny Webb from Archaeology were awarded $482,000 over three years for their project, Diversity, interaction and change in prehistory: the third millennium BCE in Cyprus.
  • Dr Robert Kenny from History was awarded $255,471 over three years (Australian Postdoctoral) for his project, Psychoanalysis, anthropology and the Australian Aborigine: the revaluing of myth in the twentieth-century.
  • Dr Adelina Modesti from History was awarded $258,572 over three years (Australian Postdoctoral) for her project, Mapping Matrons: Women’s Cultural Patronage Networks in Seventeenth Century Northern Italy: from Maria Cristina of Savoy to Vittoria della Rovere.

Linkage Projects

  • Professor Tim Murray and Dr Peter Davies from Archaeology were awarded $235,944 over three years (Australian Postdoctoral) for their project, An Archaeology of Institutional Confinement: the Hyde Park Barracks 1848-1886
