Ms Joanne Tran

My name is Joanne Tran and I am a student ambassador at La Trobe University. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Health Sciences, majoring in Rehabilitation Counselling. My career goal is to work as a Speech Pathologist.
I love being a student ambassador because I get to learn new things about my uni while helping others. I believe my experiences can help people make important decisions so to ensure they have even better experiences in their learning and career. I love meeting new people and putting my skills into practice.
My advice to future students is don’t be afraid to make new friends! See uni as a fresh start to be who you want and meet who you want. Take learning and growing into your own hands.
La Trobe University is great because it embraces diversity and fosters a learning environment at the same time - it’s not hard to feel a sense of belonging straight away.
Future students should attend open day because it gives students an overview of the atmosphere and inner workings of the University before getting into the swing of things.
