Course of study:
Master of Sports Physiotherapy 2011

Victoria commenced her journey at La Trobe University where she enrolled in the Master of Sports Physiotherapy program.

"I found the course to be a fantastic opportunity to challenge my way of thinking. It was a good challenge and provided motivation to develop as a practitioner. The masters course also provided great opportunities to develop friendships and professional networks", added Victoria.

The flexible nature of the program allowed Victoria to continue employment while further enhancing her qualifications.

Always passionate about sport, Victoria is employed with the Australian para-equestrian team as a Sports Science / Sports Medicine Manager, and accompanied the team on their World Championships campaign in the United States.

Her role was expanded to the National Sports Science / Sports Medicine Manager at Equestrian Australia, where Victoria is currently involved in high performance management with the Paralympic and Olympic athletes and development squads.

"One of the main positives about the course is that the delivery is flexible, allowing students to continue to work. This was a key factor in me choosing the course. Teaching staff are very approachable, friendly and have highly specialised knowledge", said Victoria.

The course includes professional clinical placement, and Victoria was fortunate to have had the opportunity to complete her work experience with the Australian Institute of Sport as well with Joanne Kemp (Bodysystem Physiotherapy, Hobart). Both of these placements provided her great inside knowledge of the industry and further motivated her to pursue a career in the sports medicine field.

"I highly recommend the La Trobe Masters program of sports physiotherapy. It has motivated me to continue to challenge myself, I have developed nationwide networks and formed lasting friendships with both participants and staff. The opportunities I have experienced during and since the course have been unique and rewarding", added Victoria, reflecting on her study experience.
