Pregnancy and childbirth
The focus of this research area is to improve health outcomes and experiences related to childbearing.
Multi-disciplinary research into health services for pregnancy and childbirth, include:
- Investigation of women’s experiences of health services for pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period;
- Evaluation of new models of maternity care;
- Investigation of ways to promote normal birth and reduce high rates of caesarean section where appropriate; and
- Complementary medicine and fertility enhancement.
Potential PhD topics
The Department will consider any research topic that interests potential PhD students; however, students will benefit from researching in areas that align with the Faculty’s research strengths. Please find a relevant supervisor to discuss your PhD topic.
