La Trobe Communication Clinic

Our mission is to:

  • Provide speech pathology services that are informed by client-need and best practice.
  • Achieve excellence in clinical education
  • Create research opportunities for Human Communication Sciences students and staff.

Services are provided by qualified speech pathologists and supervised undergraduate and postgraduate speech pathology students.

What services are available?

We offer clinical programs in:

  • Preschool Language and Phonology
  • Fluency (Stuttering) (all ages)
  • Voice (all ages)
  • PAL - Phonological Awareness for Literacy (Grades 2-6)

Clients will be admitted to the clinic if they meet the eligibility guidelines for the service requested and agree to the fee schedule and attendance requirements.

Making an appointment

To register for speech pathology services please contact reception on (03) 9479 1921 between 9:00 - 5:00 pm Monday to Friday.

Alternatively the Request for Services–Consumer Information form, LCC Consent form and any additional information forms, available in the Documents section below, can be downloaded. These forms must be completed, signed and sent to the clinic before an appointment can be made. A referral acknowledgment form indicating allocation to the relevant service will be sent to prospective clients once forms have been received and reviewed by our Intake Co-ordinator. There is a waiting list for each of our clinical programs.

Attendance

Clients will be discharged from the clinic if they are unable to meet the attendance requirements. Clients will be discharged if they fail to attend two appointments without prior cancellation or cancel three appointments.

Fees vary according to the service offered and funding source. See the Fee Schedule in the documents section below.

How to get to the clinic

We are located on the 4th floor of Building HS1 at our Bundoora campus. We are accessible by bus, tram, train, and car. There is free car parking for clients in the Visitors Car Park. Clients will be sent an appointment card and directions. See the Documents sections below for map and directions.
