RRMA Bonusing

The Faculty of Health Sciences adds bonus points to a Year 12 student’s ENTER if they are living in a regional area and want to study at one of La Trobe University’s regional campuses.  For occupational therapy, paramedics, physiotherapy, podiatry and speech pathology, the Faculty will provide additional bonus points to the ENTER for students enrolling in these programs on the University’s regional campuses.

Regional bonuses will be according to the Federal Government’s RRMA classification of the town, with students living in the RRMA 3 & 4 zones given 5 bonus points, students in RRMA 5 & 6 zones receiving 7.5 bonus points and students living in RRMA zone 7 receiving 10 bonus points.

The Faculty’s Dentistry course will also provide additional bonus points according to the RRMA zone in which the student lives. Students in RRMA zone 3 & 4 will receive 10 bonus points to their ENTER, 12.5 bonus points if they live in RRMA zone 5 & 6 and 15 bonus points if they live in RRMA zone 7.

Rural and Regional Access Scheme

Regional applicants to the Faculty of Health Sciences’ other courses offered at regional campuses (Bachelor of Health Sciences, Nursing, Oral Health Science and Human Services/Social Work) will be awarded bonuses in accordance with the University’s Rural and Regional Student Access Scheme (RRSAS).  RRSAS aims to encourage students who’ve completed their VCE (or HSC in NSW) at a rural or regional school to study at one of La Trobe’s regional campuses.

The Scheme provides an automatic bonus of 3 ENTER points to applicants within the Middle Band.  Students from eligible schools who apply to any undergraduate course at a regional La Trobe campus through VTAC or UAC will be considered automatically – there are no extra application forms to complete.

A list of the eligible Victorian and New South Wales schools can be viewed on the Rural and Regional Access Scheme page, on the La Trobe University VTAC Information site available on the 'Quicklinks' list above.
