Brief Profile
Ming had a wealth of experiences in working as a clinical practitioner, planning and evaluation consultant, and senior manager in the healthcare sector before she pursued her academic career. She has been teaching and researching in the area of Health Services Management since 2005. She joined the School of Public Health, La Trobe University in July 2007 after the completion of her PhD titled "Characteristics, competencies and Challenges: a quantitative and qualitative study of the senior health executive workforce in NSW, 1990-1999" with Griffith University in 2006.
Her current research focuses are evidence-informed managerial decision making, competencies among middle to senior level managers in hospitals and community health services and health service management workforce development. She also has strong interests in planning, evaluation, project management, health service management education design, and prevention and interventions in drug and alcohol use.
