Brief profile

Teresa is Head of Allied Health in the La Trobe Rural Health School. In this role she oversees the delivery of the La Trobe University programs in Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Podiatry, Physiotherapy, and Social Work across the rural campuses of Bendigo, Shepparton, Mildura and Albury-Wondonga. She also chairs the LRHS Research Management Committee and is the School’s Post-graduate Co-ordinator. With a background in Speech Pathology, her clinical and academic interests have been in severe communication impairment in people with developmental disabilities, as well as health and mental health issues faced by this group. Current projects address services for ageing people with intellectual disability and those who care for them; Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease assessment and caring needs; and non-electronic communication aids for people with complex communication needs, and for people with Autism.
