Brief profile
Suzane Vassallo is a full-time Lecturer in the department of Clinical Vision Sciences. She is also the 4th year & Honours year coordinator. Suzane teaches in the areas of optics, refraction, neuro-ophthalmic disorders and also in those subjects concerned with the orthoptic management of patients in the ophthalmic setting - e.g., ocular ultrasonography, surgical assistance. Her main area of research interest is in the analysis of saccadic eye movements and understanding the manner in which individuals look at emotional faces. Suzane is currently coordinating the development of the new degree Bachelor of Orthoptics/Master of Health Sciences.
Suzane is actively involved in the Orthoptic Association of Australia (Victorian Branch) and is currently the Branch Treasurer. In 2008, she was Convenor of the 65th Annual Scientific Conference of the Orthoptic Association of Australia Inc.
