Brief profile
Siann is an experienced youth mental health clinician. She has worked with adults who have ongoing illness (schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, schizoaffective disorder, schizophreniform psychosis, post-traumatic stress disorder, antisocial personality disorder and borderline personality disorder), mothers and babies (post-partum psychosis, post-partum depression), and people with serious eating disorders (anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, eating disorder NOS). Siann has spent the majority of her career working in early psychosis. She was the Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention Centre (EPPIC), Orygen Youth Health, Clinical Manager before joining the Occupational Therapy School at Latrobe University. She has extensive experience in case management, crisis intervention, group therapy, young people with complex presentations, post-traumatic stress disorder in young people and family interventions. Her research masters was a quantitative study that investigated the experience of being a sibling of a young person with early psychosis. Siann's role at the university is establishing curriculum and lecturing in the areas of mental health. She works across both the Bundoora and Bendigo campuses. She has presented at many international conferences and has trained therapists in Europe on the assessments, interventions and application of the cognitive behavioural case management early psychosis model of practice. Siann is a member of Occupational Therapy Australia and the Australian and New Zealand Occupational Therapy Mental Health Academics.
