Brief Profile
Dr Regina Belski is a lecturer and researcher in the department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition at La Trobe University. She is also an Accredited Practising clinical and sports dietitian.
Her work focuses on nutritional influences in the management and prevention of obesity and chronic health conditions as well as optimal nutrition for sport and performance. Dr Belski is also an emerging researcher in the area of nutrigenomics. Dr Belski completed her PhD at the University of Western Australia undertaking research focused on weight management and reduction of cardiovascular disease risk in overweight individuals utilising novel functional foods.
In June 2011 Regina was named as a 2011 Fresh Scientist by the Australian Government Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, in recognition of her work.
Dr Belski works with children and adults to optimise their eating, manage obesity and prevent the development of chronic health conditions and with elite and recreational athletes helping them to optimise nutrition for health and performance.
Regina has worked with clients including Olympic athletes and more recently the Western Bulldogs AFL team.
In recognition of her expertise in nutrition research, Dr Belski is a reviewer for the highly ranked British Journal of Nutrition, and an NHMRC project grant reviewer.

Dr Belski is currently involved in a number of projects including exploring:
- Optimal sports nutrition & hydration for elite athletes
- Cognitive dietary restraint and menstrual dysfunction in sub-elite female athletes
