Brief profile

I worked at the Deparment of Health for over 20 years.  I was employed by the Victorian Perinatal Data Collection Unit throughout this entire period with a varying range of roles from Health Information Manager, Senior Health Information Manager and Senior Project Officer.  I have been involved in many areas of data maganagement but  was especially involved in the management and research of the Victorian Birth Defects Register.  I have been involved in many research projects utilising data from the Victorian Perinatal Data Collection and Victorian Birth Defects Register.  I was responsible for the regular and ad-hoc research requests related to these two population based data sets, as well as the publication of regular reports.  I was also involved across a number of departmental projects involved with the cluster analysis of birth defects surrounding potential hazard waste sites.

I left the Department two years agos to lecture at La Trobe primarily in the areas of epidemiology and analysis of health data.  I have also filled the role of HIM Professional Practice Co-ordinator for the last two years.
