Brief Profile

Matthew has been a practising podiatrist for 13 years and is currently a Lecturer in the La Trobe University Rural Health School (Bendigo) and Department of Podiatry (Bundoora). Matthew's teaching responsibilities are focussed on biomechanics and orthotic therapy.

As a student Matthew was awarded the Chiropodists Registration Board of Victoria Prize (1999);  Brooks Prize for Podiatric Medicine (1999) and the Equus Podiatric Award (1999). Matthew received an Australian Postgraduate Award (2009-2012) to undertake his PhD, which is aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of trigger point dry needling for plantar heel pain. Matthew is currently analysing findings from a recently completed randomised controlled trial.
