Joan has a diverse career in the tertiary education as a senior manager (Faculty of Health Sciences); lecturer: facilitating learning for student nurses at all year levels at Latrobe University & Victoria University. Extensive and diverse experience as a clinical nurse & nurse administrator. She has worked in the public and private sectors in Victoria, the public sector in Western Australia & public & private health sectors overseas. 

Teaching units

Predominantly acute care medical surgical/trauma

Special interest in the educational needs & development of clinicians who supervise nursing midwifery & allied health students in health & social care settings.

Research projects

Currently in the process of conducting a longitudinal study using a mixed method approach to work with major stakeholders, tracking the development and implementation of the Clinical School Network (CSN), through exploration of the views of students, academics and supervising clinicians across eight disciplines in range of health services.
