Brief Profile

Hassan is an epidemiologist and teaches at postgraduate and undergraduate levels as the subject coordinator for epidemiology in the Master of Public Health Program and for the Bachelor of Health Sciences Degree. He conducts research across a number of areas, including a range of infectious disease epidemiology projects, with a focus on foodborne disease at national, regional and international levels. He is also involved in research addressing the understanding of the epidemiology of asthma, with a particular focus on the triggers for this disease. Other research interests include nutrition and Indigenous Health. Hassan is also involved in many training and capacity building activities, both in Australia and internationally.
