Brief profile

Alan currently enjoys teaching mental health at La Trobe University and also has a private practice in alcohol counselling. Alan has an extensive clinical background predominantly in mental health areas having worked in Aged, Adult, Child and Adolescent field as well as Alcohol and Drug services. Alan has held senior administrative roles within psychiatric services and university fields. His research interests include housing for persons with severe mental illness, alcohol related road trauma, dual diagnosis and the development of service pathways.

Alan's psychotherapeutic skills lay in the field of psychodrama and he utilises these techniques to conduct training sessions both nationally and internationally.
