AUTISM: Practical Strategies for Parents

This image is of preschool, primary school, and secondary age children with an autism logo representing this site

The aim of this website is to provide practical strategies to help parents help their children with high-functioning autism. These strategies are aimed at assisting with the development of communication, social and behavioural skills across the preschool, primary school and secondary school age groups. These strategies should be implemented by parents in conjunction with programs developed by a qualified Speech Pathologist or other allied health professional.

This website was researched and compiled by six final year Speech Pathology students (Elise Calvert, Jessica Green, Emma Harris, Emina McLean, Amanda Simionato, and Kiara Tatt).

The project was completed under the supervision of Dr Beverly Joffe at La Trobe University, School of Human Communication Sciences, Melbourne Australia.
