Course code/s: ABSC

The Bachelor of Strategic Communication is an industry-focused degree which covers subjects in public relations, advertising and marketing (including social marketing).  The degree consists of 360 credit points that can be completed in three years of full-time study. Part-time enrolment is also available. Each year consists of 105 credit points of core and compulsory subjects and 15 credit points of electives.

Subjects in Strategic Communication will cover issues and crisis management, community relations, government relations and internal communications. Subjects will address the use of social media and emerging platforms such as mobile media, as well as emphasise writing for broadcast and print. The third year of the degree is structured around internships and other professional work opportunities it will provide in a client based agency on campus. The degree is designed to prepare students for careers in the growth sectors of public relations, advertising and the strategic communications. Prospective students should make their interest known to the Strategic Communication Honours Coordinator by early June for commencement in second semester or November for commencement in first semester. Honours candidates are expected to undertake preliminary reading and writing in the break, which precedes their initial enrolment.
