This course provides professional education in tourism and travel management.
Admission requirements
Prerequisite requirements are VCE Units 3 and 4 and a study score of at least 25 in English (ESL) or 20 in any other English. Applicants with comparable qualifications will be considered. A limited number of students may also be considered under Special Entry Schemes.
Degree requirements
Students must complete a course of subjects accumulating a minimum total of 360 credit points (24 subjects), of which at least 315 cps must be subjects offered in the Department of Management. Students will be permitted to undertake an additional elective subject outside the Department of Management to complete a sequence of a foreign language studies. The course is designed to be completed in three years of full-time study, although part-time study is possible. Part-time study is encouraged for students working more than 15 hours per week.
Students can undertake a maximum of 60 credit points (4 subjects) per semester. Students must pass compulsory and prescribed pre-requisite subjects prior to commencing a subject at a higher year level. Variations to this structure are subject to approval by the Faculty of Business, Economics and Lawcourse advisers.
Students who wish to undertake a language specialisation within their degree will be allowed to do four sequential subjects instead of the four elective subjects. Students who wish to undertake the Diploma of Languages (120 credit points) concurrently with their degree, will be allowed to complete their degree subjects over a four-year period to enable them to complete the semester sequence required for language studies.
