Bachelor of Business (Event Management)

This course is designed to produce future leaders for the special events sector. It emphasizes the application of theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for the effective management of events. It provides students with many career options by combining a solid business degree - encompassing areas such as accounting, marketing, business law, entrepreneurship and economics - with specialised professional studies related to the management and delivery of special events such as project management, arts and community festivals, meetings, conferences and tradeshows as well as the opportunity to plan, deliver and evaluate student lead events. Industry/community participation is actively encouraged.

Admission requirements

Admission requirements are completion of VCE and units 3 & 4 with study score of at least 25 in English (ESL) or 20 English (any). Applicants with comparable qualifications will be considered. A limited number of students may also be considered under Special Entry Schemes.

Degree requirements

The course is designed to be completed within three years of full-time study, although part-time study is possible. Students must complete  a course of subjects accumulating at least 360 credit points. Students should undertake 120 credit points at each year level and must undertake at least 120 credit points at third year level with 90 credit points coming from the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law.
