Diploma of Arts
Course code/s: ADAB
The Diploma of Arts is a one year diploma offered to regional students who do not wish to undertake a full three-year length Bachelor of Arts, for either academic or personal reasons.
The Diploma of Arts offers an introduction to post-secondary study of humanities and social sciences in a supportive learning environment. The diploma will offer structured support throughout the course and successful completion will provide a pathway into the second year of the Bachelor of Arts.
The Diploma of Arts will keep the traditional flexibility of the first year of the Bachelor of Arts, and incorporate additional student support through the inclusion of an Academic Skills subject offered by the Faulty of Education and the First Year Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Skills Seminar offered by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
The flexibility of subject offerings in the Diploma of Arts allows students to gain knowledge and skills centred on their interests and career aspirations. Through classroom discussions, individual projects, assignments, and teamwork students will acquire skills to assist them for a career in a dynamic environment: creativity and flexibility, problem solving, communication skills, organisational skills and leadership.
