Graduate Diploma in Accounting

Course code/s: LMGAP Shepparton

The graduate diploma has been accredited as a conversion course by both CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA). This enables graduates who did not take an accounting major as part of their undergraduate degree to become professional accountants. It also allows students who have overseas qualifications in accounting to qualify for membership with the two Australian professional accounting bodies.

Note: CPA/ICAA must deem your qualification to be equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree. Degree assessment is the sole responsibility of the student and must be completed before enrolment in the course.

Admission requirements

An Australian degree or approved equivalent in any discipline is required.

Degree requirements

To fulfil the requirements of the Graduate Diploma in Accounting, students must satisfactorily complete a minimum of eight subjects (each worth fifteen credit points). This must include no more than two first year level subjects and a minimum of three third year level subjects chosen from those listed below.

Additional requirements

Students seeking to meet membership requirements for CPA or ICAA may be required to complete up to fifteen subjects before being qualified for the Graduate Diploma in Accounting.

Professional accreditation

To qualify for membership with CPA or ICAA candidates are required to satisfactorily complete fifteen designated subjects (listed below) and meet other requirements set by CPA or ICAA. Depending on a student’s academic background, some exemptions/preclusions may be granted.

Assessment of subject requirements by CPA/ICAA is the sole responsibility of the student and must be completed before enrolment in the course.
