Master of Archaeology by Coursework

This course is intended for Archaeology Honours graduates and students who wish to continue with higher-level studies in archaeology. While the course is general rather than vocationally oriented, it will be of use to students wishing to pursue careers in archaeology either in public sector heritage service departments or in private consulting.

Duration

The course is one year full-time, or two to three years part-time.

Admission requirements

Domestic
Applicants are required to have completed a four-year Honours degree in Archaeology. Applicants with a four-year Honours degree in a discipline other than Archaeology are required to have completed a La Trobe University Humanities and Social Sciences Graduate Diploma in Archaeology achieving a B average (70% or more). International
Applicants are required to have completed either a four-year Honours degree in Archaeology, or international equivalent. Applicants with a four-year Honours degree in a discipline other than Archaeology are required to have completed a La Trobe University Humanities and Social Sciences Graduate Diploma in Archaeology with a B average (70% or more). Students are required to complete four 15-credit-point fifth year level subjects from those listed below and a 15,000-word research thesis worth 60 credit points, ARC5THE.
