The Master of Nursing (Neonatal Intensive Care) is a 1.5 year, full-time or 2-3 year, part-time award with exit options available at either the Graduate Certificate (1year, part-time, 60 credit points) or the Postgraduate Diploma (1year, full-time or 2 years part-time, 120 credit points). The course is designed to provide a range of opportunities for students to develop a deeper understanding of neonatal intensive care nursing through systematic analysis and reflection on the relationships between theory and practice.
To complete the clinical components of the Diploma program, students are normally employed by either The Royal Women’s Hospital, The Mercy Hospital for Women, Monash Medical Centre, or The Royal Children’s Hospital for four shifts per week in the academic year in which they undertake the specialist subjects.
Admission requirements
Applicants seeking entry into the Master of Nursing (Neonatal Intensive Care) must be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia.
