Master of Educational Leadership and Management

The course is designed for anyone who aspires to a leadership position in an educational organisation or who is interested in understanding more about management and leadership positions within these contexts. This program is focused on improving the knowledge and understanding of participants by relating theory and best practices to their own contexts and situations, thus enabling them to develop the skills and competencies necessary to refine and improve practice.
Participants in the program come from a range of educational settings including higher education, TAFEs, as well as primary and secondary schools within Australia and overseas. International and comparative perspectives on organisations form a particular focus of the program.
Duration
The 240 credit point program may be taken over two years full-time or three to six years part-time.
Applicants with a relevant fourth year qualification receive 120 credit points of advanced standing and take a 120 credit point program over one year full-time or two to three years part-time.
Admission requirements
Applicants with a three year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent tertiary qualification are eligible for entry to the full 240 credit point program.
Applicants with a four year teaching qualification, an Honours degree, or a relevant graduate diploma from a recognised university or institution are eligible for advanced standing entry to a 120 credit point program.
Course structure
The course is available by all coursework or a combination of coursework and a minor thesis.
All subjects are 15 credit points except where indicated.
