The Graduate Diploma in Environmental Health is designed to build on students' undergraduate experiences in the sciences and provides the knowledge and skills to practise in environmental health. It offers a blend of theory and practice relevant to different environmental health settings and is accredited by Environmental Health Australia, the professional peak body, allowing graduates of this program to find work within the Environmental Health workforce.
Admission requirements
Applicants may be regarded as eligible for admission into the Graduate Diploma of Environmental Health if they have completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences (or Bachelor of Public Health) or Bachelor of Applied Science from La Trobe University, or an equivalent qualification from an approved higher education provider, and can demonstrate that a minimum level of basic science training has been undertaken within their undergradaute degree (eg. one semester full-time equivalence of subjects such as chemistry, physics, biology, anatomy and physiology, life science and microbiology).
Course structure
The course is one year full-time study or can be taken part-time over two-years. Prospective students seeking full-time candidature should seek advice from the course coordinator. Successful completion requires students to complete eight subjects of study. Four subjects will normally be undertaken each year. This course totals 120 credit points.
