Staff have a broad range of research interests, as reflected in the units currently offered to Honours and Masters (preliminary) students. These include theatre reflecting its community in Australia and the body as performance.

Principal areas of specialisation

Principal areas of specialisation are Australian theatre, Shakespeare, physical theatre and circus (traditional and new), community theatre, modern European theatre (Ibsen, Chekhov, Brecht, Pirandello, Beckett), gender and performance multicultural theatre, realism, performance as research, post-modern theory and performance, queer theory, women’s and feminist theatre, youth theatre, and critical theory (semiotics, feminism, performative theory).
