Postgraduate Diploma of Nursing Science in Child, Family and Community – Melbourne (Bundoora) (HPCFC)

The Postgraduate Diploma of Nursing Science in Child, Family and Community Nursing is a one-year, full-time or two-year, part-time 120-credit point award leading to endorsement to practise in maternal and child health nursing, aims to prepare nurses for a broad community approach to nursing children and families, particularly for those who are in the prenatal to school-entry stage of the life cycle. Attendance at two 2-day clinical workshops is compulsory. Workshops are held at the Melbourne (Bundoora) campus.
Applicants must hold current unrestricted registration as a Division 1 Nurse (or equivalent in other states) and hold midwifery qualifications. Normally a minimum of one year’s recent clinical practice experience is required for admission.
From 2009, commencing students at all campuses will complete the following course structure subject to NBV approval:

The clinical specialty subjects NSG4ITP, NSG4ECH, NSG4IIP and NSG4EPS have a clinical practicum component of 76 hours per subject. All subjects are offered on campus by flexi-mode delivery.
