Duration: 1-2 years part-time
This course provides graduate physiotherapists with an opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills in sports physiotherapy and aims to establish a standard of advanced clinical work and theory to meet the eligibility requirements for graduates to apply for the title ‘APA Sports Physiotherapist’.
The master course requires completion of 120 credit points of study, of which the first 60 comprise the subjects included in the graduate certificate. The remaining 60 credit points are gained by the completion of three subjects that teach advanced clinical practice as well as expert clinical reasoning, manual therapy and exercise prescription within an evidence-based practice framework.
For entry into the master program, applicants must have completed the Graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy with at least a B grade course weighted average mean (WAM) and have at least three years of clinical experience in the sports physiotherapy field. All applicants must be registered to practise as a physiotherapist in Australia.
Course structure
This course can only be completed part-time. It can be completed in one year minimum or up to three years maximum. If completing course over 2-3 years, the 2-week University-based subject, PTY5CRM, must be completed first.
