Duration: 2 years part-time
The Master of Physiotherapy provides physiotherapists with the opportunity to undertake postgraduate studies by developing research skills in an area of specific relevance to physiotherapy. The types of skills include: retrieval and evaluative review of literature; design of a study; verbal and written presentation of a research proposal; application for ethical approval; implementation of the planned study; data analysis and interpretation of results; and verbal presentation of study and thesis writing. Graduates of the Master of Physiotherapy degree contribute to research in physiotherapy and related areas. They typically publish their research in peer-reviewed journals. Many graduates obtain accelerated career advancement because of their research skills and knowledge.
Course structure
The course is offered on a full-time basis over one academic year or on a part-time basis over two years. The following subjects are taken:
