Duration: 1.5 years
Community care is an increasingly complex enterprise for all concerned; the clients, the workers, their employees and the community. The Postgraduate Certificate in Complex Community Care is designed to address major challenges to effective professional practice and delivery of services in the current environment. This program, also offered as continuing education subjects, is relevant to a wide range of professionals working in mental health, disability, child welfare and child protection, domestic violence, community health, employment, aged care and housing and support services.
Admission requirements
Prospective students for the Postgraduate Certificate in Complex Community Care are usually required to hold a three year degree and have at least one year of relevant experience. Applicants who do not hold a degree but have relevant experience may be permitted to enrol in a single subject, and if it is successfully completed may then apply to enrol in the certificate program.
Course structure
The program has eight subjects of 20 credit points each. Not all subjects are offered every year. The postgraduate certificate comprises three subjects, a total of 60 credit points, and is offered on a part-time basis over eighteen months. Subjects are offered in block mode and the program is available from the Melbourne (Bundoora), Albury-Wodonga and Bendigo campuses; however, not all subjects will be available at each campus. Subjects may also be taken as single subjects.
