Introduction to the Melbourne (City) Campus

The Melbourne (City) Campus is located on the northern fringe of Melbourne’s central business district on Franklin Street, just across from Melbourne’s historic Queen Victoria Market.

The campus hosts a small range of postgraduate courses offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences and Faculty of Law and Management. Currently, no undergraduate programs are offered here. Other faculties make use of city facilities from time to time for teaching and research purposes. The campus is the home of key research centres, including the Conflict Resolution Research Centre, and the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society.

The Melbourne (City) Campus provides teaching, research and meeting facilities, and is a convenient venue for conferences and events. There is a general-purpose computer laboratory. A student lounge is provided by the La Trobe Postgraduate Association.

The central location of the campus provides easy access to a wide range of restaurants, cafés and commercial services. It is well served by public transport, and offers limited on-site parking for staff and visitors. On-street and off-street parking is available near the campus.
