Tuition fees for international students
La Trobe University offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research fee-paying places to international students. Annual tuition fees vary from course to course. All tuition fees are shown in Australian dollars and are for students commencing in the 2010 academic year only. Tuition fees do not include the cost of text books, health insurance or living expenses such as food, accommodation, transport and medical costs.
Students will be invoiced for fees based on their actual credit point load for each semester. Please refer to the information on the standard annual credit point load for a course.
Fees for 2010
Students commencing studies in 2010 should note that the tuition fee listed in their letter of offer is for commencing students for the 2010 academic year only.
Please note: The University reserves the right to vary fees on an annual basis. Fees will not normally rise above 7 per cent per annum. Should the University decide to increase its fees, that increase will take effect on 1 January of the following year.
Credit point load
Tuition fees are also based on the standard credit point load of 120 credit points for each course. In some courses or due to study load variations, semester loads may vary above or below the normal credit point load per semester. Students will be invoiced for fees based on their actual credit point load for each semester. International students holding a student visa should note that changing a credit point load may affect their student visa. Please refer to the University Handbook for information on the standard annual credit point load for a course.
Payment of fees
For all teaching periods, international fees are due and payable on the date specified on the University’s Statement of Account. Visit: www.latrobe.edu.au/international/fees/tuition
First semester fees
Students pay their first semester’s tuition fees when they accept their offer to La Trobe University. However, in some courses or due to student load variations, semester loads may vary above or below the normal credit point load per semester. Students will be invoiced for fees based on their actual credit point load for each semester.
Dates of payment – Subject Census dates
How students will be billed in subsequent semesters depends on each subject’s Census date. The Census date is the last date for students to withdraw from a particular subject and not incur financial liability.
For subjects that run for the entire semester, the due date for international students will be 2 weeks prior to the census date for that billing period.
For subjects that do not run for an entire semester (e.g. Graduate School of Management subjects that run for a term), students will be required to pay the total fee by the particular Census date for each subject.
To check the Census dates for subjects, see: www.latrobe.edu.au/acadserv/fees
