Postgraduate Diploma of Nursing Science in Renal Nursing – Alfred Hospital, Austin Hospital (HPRN)
The aim of this speciality is to prepare qualified nurses to care for people with renal disease. It will provide nurses with the opportunity to attain knowledge and skills to provide care for in-patient and community based clients from diverse backgrounds requiring dialysis, transplantation and other interventions for acute and chronic renal failure and associated conditions. This course is conducted in conjunction with Austin Health and the Alfred Hospital. The practical component of the program consists of supervised, but not supernumerary, work at either Austin Health or the Alfred Hospital in their range of renal units.
