PEMSO

The Part-time, Evening and Mature-age Students' Organisation assists these students with their special needs and allows members social opportunities to meet others. PEMSO's lounge and office are located on the lower level of the Union Building. PEMSO can be accessed from either Cafe Moat or down the stairs from the North Court of the Union Building. Disabled person's access is through the Odeon. Opening hours are printed on the doors and the Coordinator is available for information or to help students with any queries. Phone 9479 2057.

Pemso Welcome

Sometimes we all feel a little bit alien. The trouble is the University experience seems to be aimed at the young. What we all need, like the song says, is a place where everyone knows your name. Sure, that can be a Eagle Bar, but a friendlier place is PEMSO.

PEMSO has a wide range of services and facilities to offer you. It has a quiet study area, a pool table, a donation supported coffee area, a Coordinator, comfy lounge chairs, other support services and the lounge itself. However this list6 March, 2009e help, support and friendship of fellow PEMSO students.

The people who frequent PEMSO, some would say haunt the place, are a diverse bunch that come from every faculty on campus. At 6 March, 2009le who are a year or two years in front of you. These people are an invaluable resource to you. They supply information about lecturers and courses; which can save you hours of running around and headaches.

Stress is a factor in all students' lives, even more so for mature-age students. We have commitments and obligations that are foreign to the vast majority of the student population. We have children, mortgages and the crushing force of time to deal with. PEMSO has the resources to help deal with all your problems. From a simple shoulder to cry on, a friendly face to talk to right through to providing a bridge to University services.

There is no PEMSO Committee per se. However, elections are held each year in may to appoint: A President, A lounge Convener and An activities Convener.
