ISA - International
Students' Association
The Executive Committee consists of the following ten members:
ISA Executive Committee 2009-2010
|
President
Joane Jonathan
Main scope of responsibility of the president would encompass representing the International Student Body by being the official spokesperson and to ensure the overall supervision of the committee. Apart from these, the president is expected to chair meetings and to follow up on decisions that have been made by the committee. On a lighter note, also having fun and enjoying student life while executing these expectancies.

Vice President of Finance and Administartion
Tan Hui Jing
Having no background whatsoever in handling finances (and being very bad at managing my own pocket money), this is a very challenging position for me. Fortunately for me it's not just about overseeing and approving all ISA expenditures, maintaining financial accounts, monitoring budget, attaining sponsorships, and managing administrative procedures - it's all about having fun too! At times organising activities and events while having a limited budget gives us all a severe headache, but with support from the ISA team, everything is achievable! |
Vice President of Education and Welfare Christelle Buffet
Being in the education and welfare department,
I liaise with the National Liaison Committee and attend their
meetings. I work with Ashwyn to provide migration seminars to
students as it is an area which international students are always
concerned with, especially with the constantly changing policies.
I'm concerned of your welfare so come discuss your concerns and
we will try to help. |
Vice President of Liaison and Activities
Tan Hai Chao
I'm the brain behind planning and organizing trips
and events for ISA. This year we plan to bring you very exciting
trips and are looking at providing more day trips as they are
more affordable and convenient for students to fit into their
tight schedules! |
Director of Information and Publication
Sophia Su
Advertising!
Updates! Publicity! Facebook! Getting rid of old news is my job. Keeping you up to date with the latest news on ISA is what I do. In short, I am your informer and publisher. |
Director of Public Relations
Nicole Wong
I’m in charge of our association’s public image, which hopefully comes across as warm, inviting and open to all (quite different from my usual facial expression when you catch me unawares… I’m quite friendly! It’s just I have an aloof face… sorry!). My main scope would be to ensure that a good reputation of the ISA is kept. This involves but is not limited to fostering good relations with students, other student bodies, organisations, attending conferences and spreading the word through any form of public communication. So while everyone else’s role seems to build towards our public image, one person has to make sure that it all contributes to one good solid image. That person would be me. |
Director of Services
Hannah Huong Tran
As the Director of Services, my key responsibilities are to help the committee to draft the ISA International Students Orientation Program, organise the ISA general meetings including Annual General Meeting, co-ordinate and organise the seminars and forums. Together with ISA, I hope you guys can enjoy a secure and colourful life at La Trobe. See you round on campus.” |
Vice President of Education and Welfare
Lucy Yu
As a member of Liaison and Activities Sub-Committee, my responsibilities are to organize lots of relaxing and entertaining activities to our members. Also create a platform to get everyone together and meet some new friends! We hope you love the activities we are planned for you and enjoy your life apart from study!
|
Director of Social and Cultural
Jesmine Lal
As a member of the Education & Welfare Sub-Committee, I play a role in co-ordinating and planning the social and cultural events program. My main responsibilities include organizing the annual Multi-Cultural Week with the En Masse Dinner being a major highlight for many international students and local students alike. The best part of this is being involved with students with different background, taking part in events where you get to widen your circle of friends and having a wonderful time experiencing different cultures! Don't be afraid to say HI when you see me around campus!
|
Director of Finance
Rohit Singh
My position requires me to provide ISA with alternate monetary sources for running various multicultural events organized at the university. I'm also required to prepare and maintain an account for all the financial transactions occurring while organizing trips and events for the international students.

The ISA Executive Committee works
