Scholarships and awards

The Graduate School of Management has secured industry sponsored awards for outstanding students. Awards are given in the areas of marketing, human resource management, strategy, international business and management information systems.

In addition to industry sponsored awards, the Faculty of Law and Management annually awards the Dean’s Medal and the Dean’s Commendation-Graduate School of Management.

Domestic scholarships

Bendigo Bank scholarships (PDF 20.09KB)

The Bendigo Bank has generously offered two scholarships for MBA students studying in Bendigo. Scholarship 1 is offered to students who have been employed by the Bendigo Bank for at least 3 years. Scholarship 2 is available to appropriately qualified people that work in the Bendigo Community.

  • Scholarship 1
    Awarded to a student enrolled in the Master of Business Administration at Bendigo Campus, who has been employed by the Bendigo Bank for at least 3 years, has successfully completed the Graduate School of Management's Graduate Certificate in Business Administration, and demonstrated a good overall academic performance and a commitment to fostering community development in Bendigo. 
  • Scholarship 2
    Awarded to a student enrolled in the Master of Business Administration at the Bendigo Campus.  The recipient must have successfully completed the Graduate School of Management's Graduate Certificate in Business Administration, and demonstrated a good overall academic performance and a commitment to fostering community development in Bendigo.

In conjunction with La Trobe International, the Graduate School of Management offer a range of scholarships for international students.     

Germany

GoStralia

In cooperation with GoStralia, the Graduate School of Management offer 3 x $5,000 scholarships for our 1 year Masters programs.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Successfully meet the requirements for entry into the Graduate School of Management’s Master of International Business, Master of Marketing Management or Master of Business Administration (including minimum standards of language proficiency);
  • Attach a written personal statement (maximum 500 words) addressing their academic merit, what they hope to get out of their study experience at La Trobe, and their commitment to promoting the Graduate School of Management to prospective international students.

Institut Ranke-Heinemann (IRH)

In cooperation with Institut Ranke-Heinemann (IRH), the Graduate School of Management offer 3 x $5,000 scholarships for our 1 year masters programs.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Successfully meet the requirements for entry into the Graduate School of Management’s Master of International Business, Master of Marketing Management or Master of Business Administration (including minimum standards of language proficiency);

Frankfurt School of Finance and Management


Students at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management are eligible to apply for one of two MBA Study Abroad scholarships covering four (4) units, including two (2) units by course work as well as one (1) two-unit research project.

Thailand

In cooperation with La Trobe International, the GSM offer a number of scholarships to students from Thailand. These scholarships will provide 10% scholarships to a number of students, based on academic merit.

Eligibility:

New applicants for Master of International Business (MIB) and Master Marketing Management (MMM) for July 2009 intake. Note that enrolled students are not eligible for these scholarships.

Selection criteria:

In addition to meeting the standard academic and English language requirements of the course, applicants will be selected on the basis of academic excellence through the academic results submitted with the application.

Value:

Twenty scholarships are available which will offer 10 % of the tuition fees worth AUD$2,289 for the total duration of the Master of International Business and Master Marketing Management degree.

Continuation is subject to satisfactory academic progress and maintaining status as an overseas student.

How to apply:

Applications are open now and close on July 17 for the Semester 2 2009 intake.

Applicants must complete the PG application form, and attach the relevant documentations.

Faculty awards

Each year, the Faculty aims to award International Academic Excellence Scholarships, Honours Scholarships, Dean's Medals and Commendation certificates for various programs in recognition of outstanding academic achievement. Students do not lodge an application; the Schools determine awards based on outstanding academic performance and recipients are notified.
