Postgraduate Studies
GSD Studies offers the following Postgraduate degrees:
Postgraduate work in GSD Studies at La Trobe University offers the opportunity to further develop knowledge in and practices of feminist research in a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment.
We offer supervision of postgraduate work in an extensive range of research fields, including Sociology, English and Cultural Studies, Philosophy, Legal Studies, History, Politics, Anthropology, Art History, Asian Studies, European Studies, Drama, Cinema and Media Studies. Postgraduate students are able to work across these and other disciplines. Students have the opportunity to combine research supervision from different disciplines across the University.
We hold postgraduate seminars on a fortnightly basis in order to provide regular contact among postgraduate students and with staff. This seminar offers students the opportunity to present work-in-progress and to discuss issues around thesis writing and postgraduate research. A postgraduate seminar day at the end of each year offers a further place for intellectual exchange among students and staff, and for the presentation of papers. A postgraduate writing group is encouraged to meet on a regular basis.
GSD Studies postgraduate students are 'attached' to the School and Program where their supervisors are located, and are entitled to the same resources and programs offered to students in that School.
