Cognitive Neuroscience and Gifted Education Conference

The 2005 conference was held on the Bendigo campus over the 25th and 26th of November.

The keynote speaker was Professor John Geake, Professor of Education at the Westminster Institute of Education, Oxford Brookes University, John is also Research Collaborator with the Centre for Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain, Department of Neurology, University of Oxford. His post includes leading the Institute’s research developments in gifted education through the Research Centre for Able Pupils.

He is co-founder (in 2001) and Chair of the Oxford Cognitive Neuroscience and Education Forum, Centre for Cognitive Neuroscience, University of Oxford.

John’s research interests include the neuroscience of high intelligence and creativity, nonlinear dynamical modeling of brain functioning, and the implications of cognitive neuroscience generally for pedagogy and curriculum.
