Biographical Notes
Since 2000, Danny O'Neill has run his own consultancy business (Chandris Pty Ltd) where he provides water and natural resource policy support and program evaluation services to Victoria's Catchment Management Authorities, Victorian Government departments and the Murray Darling Basin Commission. His recent major assignments include: developing a floodplain management strategy for the MDBC; reviewing the potential environmental impacts of interstate water trading and the mechanism used by State Governments to manage these impacts; reviewing irrigation funding programs; developing options for streamlining the catchment management investment process; and providing executive support to the Victorian Catchment Management Authorities Chairs and Chief Executive Officers Groups.

Danny also undertakes a number of teaching assignments for post graduate and under graduate students in water policy and environmental politics at RMIT University, La Trobe University and Melbourne University.

Prior to establishing his consultancy business, Danny was a senior executive officer with the then Department of Natural Resources and Environment with responsibility for salinity, native vegetation management, private forestry, Landcare and sustainable agriculture programs. He became involved in natural resource management in the mid 1980s through his work as a Community Development Programs Coordinator with the then Salinity Bureau, located in Victoria's Premier's Department.

Danny holds Bachelor of Science degree from Monash University, a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Melbourne and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Policy from the University of Melbourne.
