Environmental Consultant, van de Graaff and Associates

I work as an Environmental Consultant with a small consulting firm which focuses on Soil Science. The work ranges from assessing land for private clients with respect to sustainable wastewater disposal, to horticultural assessments of the suitability of soils for local councils, and land system mapping for a variety of clients particularly water authorities to inform asset management. I spend around 80-90% of my time in an office writing reports and the rest of the time trekking around Victoria augering holes and sampling soils.

To the left is an action shot from field work at a site in Warrandyte. We were conducting permeability tests for a private client wishing to build a house who required a Land Capability Assessment to submit to Council demonstrating the site could support sustainable on-site wastewater disposal.
