Donations to the University of greater than $2 are tax deductible and official receipts will be issued for tax purposes. More information on tax deductibility is available through the La Trobe University Finance Division web site.
Scholarships and Prizes
Scholarships and Prizes recognise excellence in our students. Scholarships allow the University to provide extra financial support to benefit students, such as those from disadvantaged situations, who otherwise might not have had the opportunity for University study.
There are a variety of existing scholarships and prizes that you can support. Or why not consider establishing a scholarship or prize? It could be:
- In your area of particular interest
- In memory of a close relation or mentor
- To support a cause or encourage greater focus on a particular area of study

Assistance for Research
La Trobe University has an outstanding record of research achievement, and a wide variety of research interests. We have particular strengths in health and engineering.
Our staff have a proud history of successful partnering programs with business and other research organizations, achieving valuable research and consultancy outcomes, producing work-ready graduates, and negotiating high quality industry placements.
By donating to research at La Trobe, you'll be contributing to existing work or help initiate research in an area that is important to you. Your donation may support research that could be life-changing, or profoundly change the world in which we live.
Planned Giving and Bequests
Deferring your giving through a planned gift or bequest you can support the important work of teaching and research well into the future.
Your bequest could be:
- A financial contribution of any amount
- A gift-in-kind (a non-monetary donation such as art, books, collections, equipment etc)
- A proportion of your estate or the residue of it after other distributions have been made

Gifts-in-Kind
Donations don't need to be financial to make a difference. A gift-in-kind is a non-monetary gift usually in the form of a cultural gift such as books, art works and equipment.
