Meet our student
Mr Lam Phan Faculty of Law and Management Dean's Commendation Award
Course of study:
Bachelor of International Business
When choosing La Trobe's Bachelor of International Business degree, I felt that the course would provide me with essential knowledge, as well as relevant skills to work in a business environment, not only in my home country (Vietnam) but also in Australia or any other country around the world.
In the beginning, I came to La Trobe as an exchange student. But after the exchange semester, I decided to stay at La Trobe to complete my degree. The university also allowed me to transfer my first two years of academic transcript from my home university.
From the moment I began the International Business degree at La Trobe, I was impressed by the professional style. Everything is always tailored to benefit the students. The teaching staff are very enthusiastic and supportive in helping students to do the best in their study.
Since studying at La Trobe, I have had a clearer career path in mind. The course also gives me lots of practical knowledge that makes me more confident in pursuing my desired career as a Financial Manager.
Melbourne is really a multicultural city with a lot of international students. The experience within this kind of environment helps me build the awareness of cultural diversity, which is essential for my future career.
La Trobe's Melbourne (Bundoora) campus is a big campus with lots of supportive servicesfor students. I especially like the university library with a huge source of study materials.
I think the most important thing about deciding whether to go to university is to have a clear orientation of career path. And then you can choose an appropriate university to study at. Also, the diversity of the university environment is woth mention.
