Bachelor of Accounting (Commerce)
My name is Ustashia Pillay – I’m enrolled in a Bachelor of Accounting (Commerce); my career goal is to work in accounting, with a focus on auditing and assurance.
I enjoy being an ambassador because I get to work with groups of people from different backgrounds, interests and educational fields while completing my degree.
Being an ambassador means I’m in a position to inspire new students coming from high school and mature age students pursuing a higher education to reach their full potential at La Trobe.
Whether you do, or don’t, know what you want to study, it’s important to do your research. Look at university websites, go to open days, speak to past university graduates and look through catalogues and brochures. Another thing to do is ask questions, talk to family and friends and seek their advice.
La Trobe is not only a great place to study but also a place where you can pursue your interests. It’s the middle point between finishing school and going on to a big and bright future career. Teachers and staff are always helpful as they want to see you succeed! Incorporated in an environment of learning is also an atmosphere of fun and flexibility – you make friends from all disciplines and choose what and when to study.
