Course description
Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) is a prestigious degree favoured by students with their ambitions tuned towards becoming tomorrow's decision-makers and opinion shapers. Such programs are offered at 44 universities worldwide including Britain's Oxford University but La Trobe is creating new ground for students by being the first Australian University to offer this course. The program equips students with a broad knowledge base they can use to resolve practical policy problems. At the heart of the program is the recognition that economic, political and philosophical dimensions are critical to every issue that informs life and work in contemporary society. Content includes policy-focused economics seminars and a range of subjects that integrate philosophical, political and economic aspects of public policy issues (for example, PPE, Public Policy and Ethics, and Governance and Public Policy).
