Our Bachelor of Business will keep you up to date with a rapidly changing world. Throughout your course, we keep you in touch with the big issues affecting modern businesses such as globalisation, trade barriers, sustainability and the environment. You will complete a well-rounded degree giving you a strong foundation in business knowledge. You’ll have the skills to work in businesses of any size in the private or public sectors. Study accounting, economics, management information systems, business law, sustainability, statistics, finance and marketing. Wait until second year to decide your major, then select from a wide range of career-orientated specialisations including marketing, human resource management and sustainable resource management. Choose a Bachelor of Business or one of nine specialist business degrees or seven cross-disciplinary double degrees. We offer flexible scheduling so you can adjust your pace of study to suit your circumstances.

Sustainability and the management of the world's natural resources are a major challenge today, especially when the effects of climate change are considered. Consequently, agribusiness is currently an area of skills shortage, actively seeking qualified graduates. This course aims to combine practical career-orientated science with business and management skills. Students should acquire a powerful set of skills for a multi-billion-dollar food and fibre industry. La Trobe is developing some of the best agricultural science teaching and research facilities in the world, through the development of AgriBio, the Centre for AgriBioscience , a A$288 million public private partnership between the Victorian government and La Trobe University, currently under construction. Please note, students enrolled at the Albury-Wodonga campus must transfer to the Melbourne campus for the last two years of the course.

This course combines practical, career oriented science with business and management skills to prepare students for careers in agribusiness; please see individual course entries to explore options, and contact the faculty to discuss your choices with University staff. Students can access the Faculty's industry experience and student support programs. Work has commenced on the $288-million Centre for AgriBioscience and the $94-million La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science. Once completed, these Centres will expand laboratory facilities as well as teaching and research opportunities for La Trobe's science students.

This course aims to provide the foundation knowledge and skills required to practise in finance and accounting, and is accredited by CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. First-year studies provide an introduction to accounting, finance, economics, statistics and information systems. From second year, students can take a broad range of electives in finance and/or accounting. The curriculum offers a six-subject accounting specialisation and a five-subject finance specialisation. The flexible structure allows for transfer into the Bachelor of Business on the basis of any major or any Bachelor of Finance studies prior to commencing second year.

Work has almost finished on the $288-million Centre for AgriBioscience and the $94-million La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science. Course description
This course offers an innovative, high-quality legal education with a strong global and social justice perspective and an emphasis on practical experience. It includes all the compulsory law subjects required by the Council of Legal Education for admission to practice in Victoria, and a wide range of law electives. It also includes compulsory subjects relevant to economics, such as Banking and Finance Law, Competition Law and Policy, or an approved subject from the Master of Laws in Global Business Law.

Professional recognition
The Bachelor of Laws includes subjects approved by the Victorian Council of Legal Education, which must be completed successfully to qualify for admission to legal practice. Admission as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria requires the completion of articles of clerkship or a practical legal training course such as that offered by the Leo Cussen Institute or the College of Law. International graduates would need the relevant visa to complete a supervised workplace traineeship in Australia. International applicants are advised to obtain assurance of recognition of the course by relevant professional bodies in their preferred country of practice. The appropriate choice of subjects in the Bachelor of Economics can lead to membership of the Australasian Institute of Banking and Finance.
