The Women in Leadership event in Shepparton offers a forum designed to stimulate a conversation around the topic of women in senior and leadership roles in business, government and community and explore types of leadership and different leadership journeys.
All monies from ticket sales goes to the Regional Women in Leadership Bursary. The purpose of the fund is to provide bursaries to female La Trobe students in regional Victoria who are aspiring to leadership positions but are experiencing some disadvantage during the course of their studies.
The event will conclude with refreshments and an opportunity for networking.
Amalia Di Lorio
Amalia Di Lorio is a Professor of Finance at La Trobe University with an active international research profile and numerous highly regarded publications. Amalia has a particular interest in women's financial literacy and other factors that influence positive outcomes for women.
Alana Johnson is a pioneer of the rural women’s movement, who has worked as a government advisor, clinical family therapist, writer, public speaker, social worker and lecturer. Alana is a fifth generation farmer with a national and international reputation as a change agent, and is a rural representative on the recently-formed Victorian Government’s Ministerial Council on Women’s Equality.
Julie Cobbledick has been involved with Catholic Education in the Diocese of Sandhurst for the past thirty-five years and has extensive experience as an educator, Principal and Educational Consultant. Julie is the Consultant to the Principal Wellbeing Project providing the support and resources needed to assist Principals in their demanding, yet rewarding roles as leaders in Catholic Education.
Jo Breen has established a strong career in journalism, marketing and management across a range of organisations both within the Goulburn Valley, and on a broader national scale. Jo was twice nominated for the Telstra Businesswoman of the Year Award and has won a number of industry awards in news and marketing. She is currently the PR, Marketing and Fundraising Manager at Shepparton Retirement Villages and a director of GV Health.
